Computational scripts (Matlab) used in Barberini et al. (Journal of Vision)

The scripts in this directory document the calibration analyses used in this paper.  These scripts have been run under both Matlab version 6.5.2 and 7.0.1.  They require Matlab and Matlab image processing toolbox.

Download Software

  1. macularPigmentAnalysis.m: Analysis of the consequence of macular pigment mis-estimation when presenting an S-cone isolating stimulus.

  2. rodLightLevels.m: Analysis of the light levels at the rods (scotopic luminance) when using the yellow light control.

  3. rodContrast.m:  Estimation of the contrast in the rods when generating an S-cone isolating stimulus.

In addition, there are several data files describing the spectral power distributions of the display monitor and the yellow light control

These scripts rely on the functions contained in ISET-1.0 (Image Systems Engineering Toolbox).  You must download that software by clicking here.  Please contact Wandell@stanford.edu for the password needed to unzip the file.

After unzipping, add the functions in your Matlab path.  ISET-1.0 is freely available and the routines are open source.  The ISET-1.0 graphical user-interface of requires a license.  For educational purpose, a license can be obtained from ImagEval for 100 dollars (US).

Matlab and the Image Processing Toolbox can be purchased from the Mathworks (www.mathworks.com).
