Sidebar editing instructions

Use this page to customize the sidebar on the left. The last two sections of this page can respectively control the expanded left menu and the wiki tools navigation bar. Follow these steps:

1. Login. You must have administrator rights to edit the side bar (see Guillaume or Bob if you want to become an administrator)
2. Edit the code section you want to modify
   
   

N.B. When there are more than three page sub-sections, a list of links is generated at the top of the page. This has to be taken into consideration when the side bar becomes too long.

Edit expanded left menu code

• Use this syntax: [dots] | [text] | [full_url] | [Mouse comment] | [Icon] where:

  
  

  [dots] specifies the hierarchy of the item in the toolbar:

  • . means new menu item
  • .. means expand a new item
  • ... means expand a 2-level new item, etc...

  
  

  [text] is the text you want to display

  
  

  [full_url] is the full url of the link. Pretty URLs won't work for all pages

  
  

  [Mouse comment] is the text that will appear when your mouse is over the text. Optional in most cases

  
  

  [Icon] is the name of the icon you want to display. It has to be in /menuicons/

Edit wiki tools navigation bar

This toolbar is much easier to customize. However, because of its implicity, it is not possible to have expanded items.

• Use this syntax: [stars] [url] | [text] where:

  
  

  [stars] specifies the hierarchy of the item in the toolbar:

  • * means new toolbar
  • ** means new item in the toolbar
  • *** means an extra indentation, **** 2 extra indentations etc...

  
  

  [url] specifies the name of the linked page (the one you would search in the search bar)

  
  

  [text] is the text you want to display
  
  

Common Bugs

• Do not put extra lines between a menu item and its parent in the expanded menu. It won't work
• Do not forget the character "|" between url and text in the wiki tools navigation bar, otherwise your line won't be taken into account.
• If your toolbar is not refreshed, try to delete the cache in your web browser (Tools->Options in Firefox)
