Dyslexia
Dyslexia is a developmental disorder that comprises a range of language-related deficits, including poor reading, writing and speech production skills. Dyslexia is biological in origin and tends to run in families, with recent research suggesting that individuals inherit the genetic links for dyslexia from one or indeed both of their parents.
Current Research
I am currently undertaking research to determine whether the visual deficits that are observed in dyslexic readers are present in these children before they experience reading difficulties. This research may therefore identify how these deficits contribute to reading failure.
